On the fourth day of our trip, I was Determined to watch the sunrise from Yaki Point. So we woke up even earlier and made sure that we caught the first shuttle bus that would take us there. Oh man. We had no regrets. We saw the most beautiful sunrise. It was so visually delectable, I can barely describe it. In reaction to what I saw, my heart started beating faster and faster because the visual stimuli was just too much - it was THAT beautiful. At that point, I thought to myself, "Trip made". Haha, I had no idea just what was ahead of us. We spent the rest of the day exploring the rest of the South Rim Trail (close to the lodges) before leaving for Flagstaff, AZ, where we spent the night. It was pretty and gave us a different view of the Grand Canyon. Honestly, though, I preferred the views of the East Canyons, plus after what I saw that morning, nothing else that day could really top that.
Just so you know, you're about to be bombarded by a series of sunrise pictures (from dawn, to sunrise, to daybreak) with the same canyons in the fore and background. I'm not sorry, and I don't think you will be either ; )
